Beach City Garden Loan Mortgage
The Oregon coast between Siletz Bay, south of Lincoln City, and Yaquina Bay, south of Newport, is a complex birding habitat that includes sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, islands, cleared timberland and old growth forests. In addition to expected shore and pelagic species, resident and migratory birds are found throughout the treed hillsides that lie inland.
Lincoln City and Newport, Oregon
Lincoln City and Newport are relatively small commercial and tourist centers on the Oregon coast, just about 100 miles southwest of the state's largest city, Portland. Rainfall in the area is heavy, averaging more than 100 inches annually, and timber, ferns and edible mushrooms are abundant in the coastal forests. Major steelhead and salmon rivers lace the area, and the bays are well-known for Dungeness crab. The area also lies on the Pacific migratory flyway, and migratory birds are found throughout the coastal section in spring and late summer.
Where to Bird in and Around Gleneden Beach, Oregon
Gleneden Beach is a small community just five miles south of Lincoln City, on the south side of Siletz Bay. Possibly one of the most beautiful (and uncrowded) beaches in the state, Gleneden is also home to the Salishan Spa and Golf Resort. As is the case with all of Oregon's shoreline, Gleneden Beach is accessible to the public, thanks to state legislation passed in 1913.
